2009 October - feedback from BCC contacts |
Here are some stories from recent weeks from the BCC. Praise God with us at what He is doing in the lives of those below and remember them in your prayers:
Hacer Hacer watches the "Life Channel" TV broadcasts and especially the Zekeriya Butrus programs. His wife and he have both put their faith in Christ and they would like a believer to come and share with his mother so that she too might believe.
Mehmet "My name is Mehmet. I have read the book you sent, "The Most Important Decision" and I have made "MY" decision. I have believed in Jesus Christ. I don't know what changes this will bring about but my wife has left me because I have believed and because I have researched Christianity ."
Bekir "Until today I have lived as a Muslim and I am still a Muslim. But to erase the "I wonder's" from my mind I want to study Christianity in depth."
Necati I was raised by a mother and father who were steeped in Islam to the degree that they did the pilgrimage to Mecca but I never took to the religion of my parents. I know that only by reading, researching and living will I reach the love and grace of God. The area where I live is a very conservative and in many ways radical Islamic province. So too is the village in which I live. As there is now a Kuran in every home I am hoping that one day there will be a Bible in every home so that those who visit will be curious and want to read the Bible also. One month ago we had a serious flood in our town. It was a horrible night but I spent the night reading the book of Revelation in the Bible. May the Lord's love and grace be with you.
We also recently organised a street evangelism with an illusionist in a city near Istanbul. The Turkish pastor of the church there commented: “Yesterday was a very wonderful time. The brothers and sisters who did the outreach passed out about 1000 invitations and a few women telephoned for more information. These women couldn't come to our evening film showing but they want to come on Sunday. From the afternoon outreach 25 people came to see the Jesus Film last night. After the film I gave a short gospel message. But afterwards in our discussion time 19 people stayed and 3-4 are very, very interested. Let's pray for them. This is our first activity like this and afterwards I had some thoughts: In the future we can do surveys and in addition the brother who did the show received a fantastic response. We need to use people like him in the future!”
