2010 February - Contacting prisoners in SW Turkey

Here is a report about a couple of our course contacts in South West Turkey...

About one year ago I was able to write and meet with a man who is in prison here.  I actually visited him several times. But really he didn't seem overly interested in spiritual subjects. He seemed to be a traditional, nominal Muslim. But he had explained to friends in another prison about this Christian he was writing with and met. One of these friends got my address and wrote me a letter. He asked very deep and beautiful questions about faith. We have now written several times to one another and soon we will meet in the prison he is in. This is great isn't it? The Lord's ways are wonderful!

Another course student  was also in prison and I sent him a card wishing him a Happy New Year. Soon afterwards a man who I didn't know phoned me and it turned out to be this same man. I do not know how he found my phone number but he wanted to share his joy with me that he had come out of prison and wanted to meet with me.

May the Lord truly free these friends from the spiritual prison that they are in.
