Turkey Bible Correspondence Course
June 2009 Update Dear Friends,
This month we want to share different stories and testimonies from a few of the different sources people come to us from. Here are a 3 of those stories. Please pray for these people and their circumstances:
Metin & his ex-wife, Balikesir - TV Follow-up
This past Friday we met with Metin and his ex-wife in Ayvalik. They both see themselves as believers - as a result of their own reading, watching Kanal Hayat, and exposure to churches in Izmir over the last several years. They both now live separately in Ayvalik. Metin is trying to win back his ex. He admits the divorce was his fault and confessed he has made many mistakes in the past. His recognition of past mistakes was neat to hear. Metin's an interesting guy - both of them are at the point where they want to learn more and find other believers to worship with and learn from. We prayed for Metin, read from the Word together, gave them Bibles and a few books. We're planning to return in the near future and they seem interested in making the trip to the Balikesir merkez to worship with our fellowship when they can. Thanks for letting us know about Metin.
Eylem, Adana - KnowingGod Website Eylem is a 26 year old woman who lives with her family. She works as a secretary in a doctor's office. Through a friend of her father she read the Gospel of John and became enamoured with Jesus. Eylem contacted our website and after talking with her, and along with another interested young woman, she was introduced to a leader from one of the Adana churches. They went to church and Eylem was touched deeply. After going to a few meetings she believed in Jesus Christ. She still hasn't her family but meets regularly with various people from the local church and when she has the oppourtunity joins the Bible Study and prayer meetings.
Serdar, Istanbul - Newspaper Advertisement "I now see Jesus as my Saviour and I want to follow in his steps. I have been living in such emptiness I want you to help make the load I've been carrying lighter and show me the way ahead. Please don't leave me in the middle of the way. My financial situation is very good and I have no economic needs. For that reason I would be pleased if you could send me all of your materials whether they are free or not - I am willing to pay for them. The things I want most of all are a Bible and a cross."
Please also pray for some of the TACO Team as we are in Diyarbakir serving with the Diyarbakir Church in a public outreach. The church drama team along with the Storybox Band will be doing 3 perfomances in a large sports hall. It is very exciting as it is the first time we are supporting a local church in their own outreach.
