Dear Friends,

This month we will give you microcosm of what is happening around Turkey through 5 different stories in 5 different provinces. These days many are seeking, finding and transferring their allegiance from the Kingdom of Darkness to the Kingdom of Light.

At least one of the contacts that we received went to Bursa Protestant Church where she met with some of our national brothers and sisters.  I wasn't there that particular day but she mentioned that I had directed her to the fellowship where she could talk with someone if she liked. So thankful for how God is faithful to draw people to his church. God is doing a work here in this province.  He is calling dead people to life.

Friday we met with Mualla who came with a friend. We were originally quite disappointed because she talked about her thesis, the golden mean in Christianity, and the birthdate of Jesus in Di Vinci’s paintings… and then her friend left and she talked much more openly about her life. Her mother and fiancé know of her interest, but no one else does. We asked her if she wanted to meet Sam (a believer ın the area) and she did, so we called him to come. Before he got there 2 friends came by. Finally Mualla and Sam were able to share more deeply. She wants to do basic lessons with Metin our pastor. She’s a teacher and her fiancé is in the military so they will probably be transferred outside of Maraş. I left the book “My Name is Woman” with Sam to give to her later.

In the town of Niksar in the Tokat province we met with Tolga. He explained that he had graduated from the literature department of Karadeniz University. He now is working in Tokat at the local university. We had a long and blessed time of sharing. He said he definitely wanted to meet regularly with Şahin to study the scrıptures.

We met wıth about 10 people in Batman. One of these was Dasten. He has truly believed through reading the New Testament. He is a young brother who wants to be baptized. He is a brother who wants to share the peace he's received from God with others. Şaban, who visited with me, will visit there twice a month and do Bible studies with 3 different brothers regularly.

We visited Abe with Hans and 3 other local believers. Abe previously had contact with Jehovah Witnesses but realized fairly quickly that their teachings were not right. He wants to learn more deeply about Christianity. Praise the Lord a believer in the area (Ali) and they have already started Bible Studies and they are meeting together every day.

These are just a few of the many Turks who are seeking God and finding him through Jesus Christ. Please pray for these people, the provinces they live in and the many many others who are finding the road to true life in Jesus.

Dear Friends,

This month please pray for those who work with the BCC in various ways around the country. Especially pray for Şevket. He is a believer who came to faith through the correspondence course and is now growing in his faith by leaps and bounds. He has also become one of our main chat operators for the BCC chatline.

Şevket has recently started dating another believer by the name of Bilge.

Lately, both Şevket and Bilge have responded humbly to confrontation on character issues.  As a result, both are enjoying amazing progress in the grace of Christ.  Also, last week both Şevket and Bilge led seekers to professions of faith in Christ.  We are starting to see potential for future leadership in these two friends, which is a rare find.

Please pray.

The BCC Team

Dear Friends,

These days we are getting many calls, e-mails, hits on our Facebook page and many chats a week on our chatline. Recently we had over 400 initial people requestıng a course in one week and are more than doubling our response rate from last year.

Mass evangelism is great but we do it to find the ones, tens and hopefully the hundreds, who come to a transforming faith and become world changers!

Here are two brothers whom we hope are transferring into strategic world changers for God's kingdom in Turkey. Please pray for them and the many others who are on the road to the same decision.

Mahmut - Southeastern Turkey

"Hello, this my second message. In my first contact with you I didn't believe you would actually connect with me. A woman telephoned me and spoke a bit about Christianity. To be honest, because of my excitement and my Eastern accent I thought she might not really understand me.

In this message I will try to explain in a more understandable way why I want to become a Christian. My name is Mahmut. I was born in 1996 into a fanatic Muslim family who followed Sharia law. In my childhood I grew up hating Christians. From my father, and often from my mother, I would hear that Christians were infidels and that to kill them is a good deed and actually something that God approved of. I was told that they were ruthless and deprived of humanity.

I grew up throughout the time of my childhood hating Christians. At the age of seven, my father taught me how to do the ritual Islamic prayers, and when I missed prayer times, he yelled at me and often slapped me. When I came to the age of 10 I started Koran courses. When I couldn't memorise the verses, the imam would beat me with a stick and slap my ears. He wasn't singling me out but did this to all the students.

After about two years my father wanted me to leave my school and become a mullah (a Muslim learned in Islamic theology and sacred law).and after 6th grade he took me away from the school and now I completely devoted my life and committed my work to the Koran and Islam.

I had become very knowledgeable. I slowly saw how Fascist my beliefs had become and how many of my beliefs did not give me a chance to live life. When I was 15 years old I stopped praying. Most of the time I did not go to the Koran course and I finally left and I became an atheist. My family started to hate me excessively. My father had started to hate me and was calling me an infidel. He sent me to Istanbul to work and live alongside my brother thinking this might bring me to my senses but I eventually left my brother's side and started to work at an ironing factory. There I met a Christian who was very sincere and had escaped from the war in Syria and we became close frıends. A desire to be a Christian was birthed in my heart. I am now 21 years old and I really want to be a Christian. I want to hang out with Christian friends and live like a Christian. I do not know exactly what to do. I hope that you will be a guide to help me be a complete Christian. God protect you."

Mustafa - Istanbul (As told by a BCC follow-up worker)

“I met 'The Chef' in the spring of 2016. He had requested to meet with a believer through correspondence with the BCC. He is a young guy, 24 years old and recently graduated from culinary school. He was raised as a Muslim, but Islam didn’t really seem “right" to him. He didn’t feel in his heart that Islam was the truth.

During our meeting, he mentioned some extraordinary things. Since childhood, Jesus had come to him quite regularly in dreams. Also, whenever it was dark outside, and the call to prayer would sound, he would be overcome with fear and anxiety. He had even seen a psychiatrist and was taking medication for this. I suggested that reading God’s Word would be a good place to start. I gave him the complete Bible in Turkish and he was extremely appreciative. I also suggested to him that the next time he felt that anxiety, try reading Psalm 23.

A week later he texted me to say that he had again felt anxious the night before. As he read Psalm 23, he felt a calm and a peace wash over him. He said “With each line that I read, I completely felt like what I was reading was how I felt inside. His anxiety attacks rarely ever happen anymore!

Over the past year, we have met somewhat regularly to read and discuss Scripture. On January 18th, 2017 we were talking, and he was speaking as if he had accepted Christ as his Saviour. I asked if he had and his response was “yes.” He had confessed to God his sinful nature and acknowledged his faith in Jesus as his Saviour! I showed him the local Bible Society where he can find additional resources to read and his response was “This is great! Now I don’t have to order Bibles from the internet to give away.” I asked him how many he had purchased online and he said “I bought 10, but I only have 3 left.” God has transformed this once timid and anxious young man into a passionate proclaimer of the Gospel!"

Thanks for your prayers for the thousands seeking for the God of Life.
