From concert pianist to unicyclists - report on the work of TACO |

The ministry of TACO, which began as a ministry of the BCC and then grew to become its own ministry, is still closely identified with the BCC and uses the BCC as its main method of follow-up in Turkey. Having concert goers fill out surveys is a key aspect of follow-up, enabling us to discover interested seekers and put them in touch with believers, or to send them Christian literature and courses. TACO also shares an office and a hospitality house with the BCC and in practice is almost one and the same as the BCC.
 This year TACO did 6 tours in Turkey as well as assorted "one off" concerts by TACO's Istanbul-based band "Storybox." One interesting bit of trivia is a person who came to faith through TACO and was followed up through the BCC's network has done more courses than any other individual in the history of the BCC!
We see TACO's main function is to plant the seed of the gospel in the hearts of many people who would have not had a chance to hear it in any other way. A highlight at one of our event's this year was seeing 30-40 people make professions of faith. We don't exactly know how many of these people have continued to follow Jesus but we know that through the BCC network those who had made professions of faith and filled out surveys were faithfully followed up. |
